Beacons of ascent to life’s prime objective—perfection in mahamantra yoga.
Point 1. Follow in the footsteps of the previous mahamantra yogis— the perfected practitioners or acaryas.
Point 2. Become the menial servant of a genuine acarya of mahamantra yoga, receive the mahamantra from such a soul, and practically assist that great soul in the fulfillment of his or her vision.
Point 3. Become a knower of the sastras and a regular associate of sadhus, understanding both to be direct agents and expansions of Sri Nama Avatara.
Point 4. Follow the regulative principles of bhakti-yoga and know that Sri Nama Avatara realization is definitely accessible to that person who follows the authorized path.
Point 5. Communicate to interested persons the practice and glories of Sri Nama Avatara; you will thus develop and fix major thought programs for progressive mahamantra yoga within your mind as well as within the minds of others.
Point 6. Analyze and carefully control thought processes at all times.
Point 7. Know that thought control must ultimately be directed toward achieving the platform of unceasing, intensified focus of the mind upon the Supreme Absolute Person, Sri Sri Radha Krishna.
Point 8. Know that Krishna thought arouses spiritual taste, bhaktirasa.
Point 9. Know that the initial stages of positive taste (ruci) experienced through some action is an essential element in creating further pursuance of that action.
Point 10. Know that the continual drive for taste, rasa, combined with a sincere spirit of philosophical inquiry, under the guidance of a pure devotee of Sri Sri Radha Krishna, delivers one to the plane of ceaseless chanting of the mahamantra.
Point 11. With care, regularly improve and purify the mental approach to ceaseless chanting of the mahamantra, and remember that ceaseless chanting is achieved by nurturing internal attitudes of service and humility.
Point 12. Develop the understanding that the Supreme Lord resides as the Paramatma (Supersoul) within the heart of every living being. Never consciously harm any living being and always live from the heart.
Point 13. Carefully control the urge to speak.
Point 14. Carefully avoid desires for material acquisition beyond what is needed.
Point 15. On the path of mahamantra yoga avoid unnecessary physical and mental distractions by:
Eating only pure vegetarian sattvic foods that have been offered to the Supreme Lord
Gradually reducing eating
Resting sufficiently
Carefully maintaining health
Point 16. Vanquish all taints of the ten offenses to Sri Nama Avatara.
