Serves 8
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
8-oz. can pizza sauce
dried oregano and basil to taste
2/3 c. mozzarella cheese, diced
8 hot dog buns, split
Sauté ground beef, onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat; drain. Add pizza sauce, oregano and basil; lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Let cool slightly; stir in cheese. Fill buns with beef mixture; wrap individually in aluminum foil. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.
These yummy pizza rolls are terrific as a party snack too. Just slice into one-inch wide pieces and fasten with wooden picks.
