Through experimentation over years of teaching this subject, a logical order for the chapters emerged. The sequence is organized for a natural flow in the classroom. The chapters are organized from simpler to more complex, working from more fundamental to more applied concepts. Different sequences of chapters can be selected depending on the class goals. Below are three suggested curricula, highlighted in pink for (1) an undergraduate polarized light course, in blue for (2) a graduate polarization optics course, and in purple for (3) an advanced course in polarization optical design.
