1. Bob was born on the 6th of February 1945

2. Bob died on the 11th of May 1981

3. Bob was an excellent soccer player - he could have played at the top level.

4. Bob was actually raised a Catholic, but converted to Rastafarianism in the 1960s.

5. Bob left school at the age of 14 to make music with Joe Higgs, a local singer and devout Rastafari.

6. Bob’s last tour before he died was called the Uprising Tour.

7. Bob’s full name was Robert Nesta Marley.

8. A mix-up on Bob’s passport meant that it showed his name as ‘Nesta Robert Marley’

9. Bob was born in the village of Nine Miles in Jamaica.

10. When Bob sadly died at the age of just 36, his body was laid in state at Jamaica’s national arena. In one day, over 40,000 people filed past to pay their respects.
