Creating a Custom Sheet Format

  1. On Quick Access Toolbar, click the New button.
  2. On the New SOLIDWORKS Document dialog, select Drawing and click OK.
  1. Select A3 (ANSI) Landscape from the list box in the Sheet Format/Size dialog.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Close the Model View PropertyManager.
  4. On the FeatureManager Design Tree, click the right mouse button on Sheet1 and select Properties.
  5. On the Sheet Properties dialog, set the Type of projection to Third angle. Click Apply Changes.
  6. On the CommandManager, click Sheet Format > Edit Sheet Formatimage.
  7. Zoom to the title block, and then select the lines and notes shown in figure. Press Delete on your keyboard.

  1. On the CommandManager, click Sketch > Line imageand draw a line on the title block.

  1. On the CommandManager, click Annotation > Noteimage.
  2. On the PropertyManager, under the Text Format section, select Link to Property.

  1. On the Link to Property dialog, select Current document.
  2. Select SW-Author (Author) from the Property name drop-down, and then click OK.

  1. On the PropertyManager, under the Leader section, select No Leader.

  1. Click inside the box, as shown in figure.

  1. On the Formatting toolbar, set the font size to 8 and type Author.
  2. Click OK imageon the PropertyManager.

  1. On the Menu bar, click Insert > Picture.
  2. Select your company logo and click Open.
  3. Resize (click and drag the top right corner of the image) and position the image on the title block.

  1. Click OK imageon the PropertyManager.
  2. Click Exit Sheet Format.

  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Optionsimage.
  2. On the dialog, under the Document Properties tab, click Drafting Standard.
  3. Select Overall drafting standard >ANSI.
  4. Click Units and set the Unit System to MMGS.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click File > Save.
  7. On the Save As dialog, select Save as type > Drawing Templates.
  8. Browse to C:\Users\Username\Documents\Oldham Coupling folder.
  9. Type-in Sample in the File name box and click Save.
  10. On the Menu bar, click File > Close.
