To construct a lofted boss, you need to create sections and guide curves.
- Open a new file in the Part Environment.
- On the CommandManager, click Sketch > Sketch.
- Select the top plane.
- On the CommandManager, click Sketch > Ellipse
.
- Select the origin point of the sketch.
- Move the pointer horizontally and left click.
- Move the pointer vertically and left click.
- Create two centerlines passing to the origin and perpendicular to each other, as shown.

- Activate Smart Dimension tool and add dimensions to the centerlines, as shown.

- Click Exit Sketch.
- Change the orientation to Isometric.
- On the CommandManager, click Sketch > Sketch.
- Select the front plane.
- On the CommandManager, click Sketch > Spline
.
- Draw a spline similar to the one shown in figure.

- Press the Ctrl key and click on the first point of the spline and the previous sketch.
- On the PropertyManager, under the Add Relations section, click Pierce.
- Draw a vertical centreline starting from the origin point.
- Apply dimensions to the spline, as shown in figure. First, create the horizontal dimensions, and then create the vertical dimensions in the descending order.

- Draw a vertical centerline passing through the sketch origin.
- On the CommandManager, click Sketch > Mirror Entities
.
- Select the spline.
- On the PropertyManager, click Mirror about, and then select the vertical centerline.
- Click OK.

- Click Exit Sketch.
- Change the view orientation to Isometric.
