In a top-down assembly approach, you create components of an assembly directly in the assembly by using the New Part tool.
- On the CommandManager, click Assembly > Insert Components > New Part
.
- In the FeatureManager Design Tree, click the Front plane. A new part is created and the Edit Component mode is activated.
- Click Exit Sketch.
- Click Sketch > Sketch
on the CommandManager and select the Top plane from the FeatureManager Design Tree.
- Create the sketch as shown below.

- Click Exit Sketch.
- Click Features > Extruded Boss/Base
on the CommandManager and extrude the sketch up to 40 mm.

- Start a sketch on the top face and draw a circle of 50 mm diameter.

- Click Exit Sketch
- Extrude the sketch up to 95 mm distance.

- On the CommandManager, click Features > Hole Wizard
.
- On the PropertyManager, click the Legacy Hole
icon.
- On the PropertyManager, select Type > Counterbored.
- In the Section Dimensions section, modify the dimensions as shown.
- Set the End Condition to Through All.
- Click the Positions tab and click on the top face of the second feature.
- Select the origin point of the 3D sketch.
- Click OK.

- Create a through hole of 12 mm diameter on the first feature.


- Create a circular pattern of the hole (refer to Chapter 6 > Tutorial 4 to know about Circular pattern).

- Deactivate the Edit Component
icon on the CommandManager.
