Creating Smart Mates

1. Press the Alt key and click on the face of the slider, as shown.

1. Keep the Alt key pressed and drag the component onto the face of the Base as shown.

1. Release the left mouse button and notice that the Mates toolbar appears with the Coincident icon selected.
2. Click Add/Finish Mate to create the Coincident mate between the two faces.
3. Drag the slider up and rotate the view as shown.

1. Click the face of the slider.

1. Press the Alt key and drag the slider onto the face of the Base as shown.

1. Click the Flip Mate Alignment icon.
2. Click Add/Finish Mate.
3. Click and drag the slider and notice that it can intersect with the base.
