Wildflower Crown

When you’re wearing a whimsical wildflower crown, things are just better—blowing out the candles on your birthday cake, rolling around in a flower field, going to a music festival, dancing around a maypole, and walking down an aisle sprinkling flower petals as you go. Using simple wildflowers and leaves, you can showcase your free spirit anytime with this project.

Needle-nose pliers

Wire cutters

Scissors

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

WILDFLOWER CROWN

STEP 1: Prepare the base. Wrap the coiled wire around your head to determine the length you need for your crown and cut it to size. Fold over each end of the wire and twist form loops. Use pliers if needed to create tight twists.

STEP 2: Attach the leaves. Glue a small leaf around the twisted wire at each end of the crown base.

STEP 3: Attach the leaf pairs. Twist the leaf pairs onto the crown base until the bottoms of the leaves touch the coiled wire. Evenly space them along the wire. It may be helpful to lay them out to get an idea of the spacing before you attach them. Make sure the wires are twisted on tightly so the leaves don’t spin around.

STEP 4: Attach the flowers. Add a flower to every other pair of leaves. Add glue to the bottom of two leaves opposite one another. Press the flower onto the glue and press the leaves against the sides of the flower.

STEP 5: Finish. Bend the crown to give it a rounded shape. Thread twine or ribbon through the loops at each and of the crown to use as ties.
