STITCHED & STUFFED ALOE PLANT
STEP 1: Stitch the leaves. Place two matching leaves together. Thread the needle with three strands of embroidery floss. Whipstitch around the outside of the leaves, leaving the bottom open. Repeat with the remaining leaves.
STEP 2: Stuff the leaves. Fill the leaves with stuffing, leaving some empty space at the bottom. Stitch the bottom of each leaf closed right above the stuffing, leaving a bit of extra unstuffed felt.
STEP 3: Stitch two leaves together. Position two small leaves facing one another. Stitch the bottom edges of the leaves together.
STEP 4: Add two leaves. Add two more leaves, positioning them opposite one another on the open sides of the plant. Fold the felt at the bottom of these leaves around the bottom of the first two leaves and stitch them in place.
STEP 5: Attach the large leaves. Stitch the four large leaves onto the bottom of the plant. Don’t worry about what this looks like, you just want the leaves to be secure.
STEP 6: Attach the ball. Place the aloe plant on top of the wool ball. Holding the aloe leaves out of the way, stitch the plant in place on top of the ball. Get as close to the base of the plant as possible and work your way around the edges, stitching through the wool and the bottom of the plant. Add as many stitches as needed to secure the plant.
STEP 7: Finish. Your plant is finished! Put it in the planter and set it in a pretty spot.
