Be comfortable with your music skills you so will be able to focus solely on the therapeutic interaction. With that said, never stop developing your music skills. As a student you are learning about empathy, presence and are becoming mindful of who you are and your role in helping others become all they can be. Understand that it is a privilege to be in the presence of client. Gain as much experience as you can, it, along with your clients, will be your best teacher. When you have finished your education, keep learning by attending seminars, taking new courses and read as many books as you can. Remember to always come back to the music, whether in a clinical setting or in your own personal life. Music is a living, breathing spirit that will guide and reveal. Keep your faith in music.
