Chapter 26

By the time Mia made it home, she was restless and couldn’t quiet her mind. Chad mentioned earlier that he wouldn’t see her tonight with the recent missing person case looming over his head.

After trying to watch a movie with no success, she changed into a pair of shorts and tank top.  Maybe a good walk would tire her out enough to where she could sleep.

She took a few minutes to do her warm up stretches, and then headed out down the road.  No matter how hard she tried to clear her head with each step she kept going over today’s events.  Nagging thoughts of the little gifts she had received over the years plagued her.

Hopefully, Chad found other fingerprints on the items besides hers.  She was worried that he wouldn’t find any, meaning that whoever sent them knew to be extremely careful.

Half a block from her house, a sudden uneasiness came over her.  At first she tried to ignore the feeling.  She was walking on a perfectly safe street, and nothing ever happened around here.  Then she remembered Chad was helping search for a missing woman who had been walking home from work last night.

She couldn’t shake this uneasy feeling, and with each step, the feeling grew worse.  Someone was watching her.  Without breaking stride and trying not to be too obvious, she looked around, her gaze taking in both sides of the street.  So far she didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.  She saw nothing sinister or threatening lurking about.  She was just being silly, her mind working overtime from all the events that had occurred in the last twenty-four hours.

Even at this hour the air was thick with humidity.  As she headed back home, she was dripping with sweat.  She had been told sweat was good for you, that it helped detoxify your body.  If that was the case, then she should be healthy as a horse with the amount she had sweated.  Mia doubted whoever came up with that theory lived in South Louisiana.

Her walk did nothing to relax her.  Her nerves were more strained than before.  Maybe a long shower would help.  Walking into the bathroom, she turned on the shower and undressed.  Once in the shower, she let the hot water pulse against her back.

After toweling off, she blow dried her hair, smoothed her favorite scented body lotion all over and slipped into a pair of boxer shorts and tank top.  She had a book that she wanted to read and maybe it would help get her mind off her other problems.

Before settling in with her book, she put on a load of clothes.  She went to the kitchen and poured a glass of Moscato sparkling wine and prepared a plate with some Brie and crackers to snack on.  She should be tired of sweets after a day like today, but she had been waiting to try this wine all day.

She curled up on the couch with her treats and opened the book.  After she had started reading it, she realized it wasn’t a book she should have chosen for tonight.  It was about a serial killer stalking a small southern Louisiana town.

Soon, her eyelids drooped, and she fell sound asleep.  She dreamed about Chad.  He was in her blood, like a drug.  When he was away from her, like tonight, she couldn’t wait to see him.  Could this be love?  Could he be the one?

He stirred a hunger in her that she didn’t know was possible.  As she drifted deeper into sleep, her doorbell rang.  Having just dozed off, she was still disoriented.  She looked through the peephole and her spirits lifted.  “I thought you were working tonight.”

Chad kissed her as he moved inside, “Jo and I were getting tired and realized we wouldn’t do anyone any good if we didn’t get some sleep.  I noticed your lamp on and decided to see if you were still awake.”

Mia was so glad to see him.  She reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.  She heard him sigh as he kicked the door closed.  Never letting her go, he locked the door and carried her off to the bedroom.

While in his arms, she let her mouth trail kisses down his neck.  She could tell she was affecting him already.  She would never tire of being in his arms.  His chest was strong and hard, with little hair.

Desire sent butterfly flutters in her stomach as he set her on the bed.  She slowly took off his shirt, letting her mouth trail kisses along his upper torso.  Her tongue traced circles around his already hard nipples.  She was wet with excitement.

She felt his erection pulse through his pants.  She unbuttoned his slacks, and eased them off of him.  She moved lower down his body and let her lips brush up hard against him.  She heard him moan as he wrapped his hands in her hair.  The sounds he made were erotic and a turn on.

He pulled her back up and undressed her slowly.  “It’s your turn now,” he whispered in her ear.  He pulled off her boxer shorts as his hands slid down her legs.  She let out a moan as they made their way to the inside of her thighs.

She arched up against him, pressing her hips into his erection.  She moved her hips back and forth feeling his manhood rub against her.  It sent shivers of desire through her body.

She took in his nude body.  He was amazing.  She felt little thrills of excitement where he touched her.  He eased her back down on the bed and ran his fingers along her body.  As he teased her body with the gentlest of touches, the sensations became more than she could handle.  She needed to feel him deep inside of her.

In one swift movement, he plunged deep inside of her, filling her completely.  His rhythm became faster and more desperate with each thrust.

She felt the orgasm building as he thrust deeper into her.  Her body shuddered as the sensations grew.  He increased his speed, sending her further into pure delicious torture.  He kept moving faster and faster against her climax, letting it continually build – orgasming over and over again.
