My fourth book has three new characteristics. It is self-published, written in English and only available as an e-book. Therefore the writing process was a bit more challenging than before.
I want to thank the people that helped me on the way. Jeroen van Bergeijk of the Dutch publishing house Fosfor has assisted in the e-book production including the cover. Jennifer Baker has edited the text – I was relieved she didn’t find ‘any big horrors’ in the manuscript. Ryan Heath, Rem Korteweg, Philippe Legrain, Jonathan Holslag and Arnold Vonk provided feedback to the draft, sometimes in stark wordings, but always useful. Friends on Twitter also gave many important insights and tips.
On the content side, the interviewees were an indispensable part of the research. I appreciate the time they put into the project and shared my thoughts with me, most of the time on the record, even on video (www.euwatcher.eu). I cannot mention all names here but Roland Freudenstein, Claude Grunitzky, François Heisbourg, Jonathan Holslag, Daniel Keohane, Rem Korteweg, Margriet Krijtenburg, Philippe Legrain, Robert Madelin, Adriaan Schout and Jan Techau have participated in the round of interviews.
Lastly, there has always been the warm and continuing support of Tom.
