PART ONE

THE DARK FAE

The Angels Stand Just There

There is a silent shriek
Electric lightning thunderclaps
Rain against the window glass
Night outside my room

Standing at the edge of dreams
Beneath my feet they shine
eyes cold and beautiful
bathed in storm and moon

Golden skin and golden hair
He looks soft enough to kiss
And she, younger, stands just there
Inhuman eyes that draw me near

I rise
Against my own free will
A pit in my stomach
Aches as if poisoned.

I am drawn,
Against my trembling fear
A sound in my ears
Deafens all reason.

I cannot move
I cannot speak
My soul is snared
My power faltered
Seized by fear and gripped with malice
A trap is set and I am captured

Breathing slow and breathing deep
Arise thy spark!
Arise and conquer!
Fire deep within the soul
Defend the boundaries of thy master!

I find my voice; I find my power
I hum my spell
I sing my tune
The star of nature is my shield
I am firmly rooted in this realm.

Emblazoned sigil in my mind
My throaty drone empowers thee
To cast false angels to the wind
As I WILL, So MOTE IT BE!

The spell is broken
My guests depart
I fall down exhausted
I sleep without dream.
