PART THREE

THE DEMON WORK

The Shadow Demon

Twisted shade, thy wraith of fear
of shame, of guilt, of anger’s wrath
who darkens still my silver mirror
who poisons soft behind my mind

For years you’ve lurked beyond my knowing
at times, you’d rise like flames and then
to hide in ashes, cold and slumbering
and then as quick to rise again.

Shadow demon, it’s you I conjure
From dark abyss within my soul
To show your face, by word of honor
And I will know it’s not my truth.

Shadow, this I offer to you
By magic power of your true name
Shadow, be my demon lover
And merge as one into my flame.
