Thank you very much to the team at Simon and Schuster for the infinite care they took with Walking on Trampolines. It has been a joy to work with Lauren McKenna and Elana Cohen, both of whom have welcomed me to the Simon and Schuster tribe with warmth, enthusiasm, and great editorial support. It is a fortunate writer who finds themself in their hands!
Thanks to Alison Clarke from Simon and Schuster, Canada.
As an Australian, it is a real thrill for me that my characters have made their way across the seas to be published in the United States and Canada, and I thank my wonderful agent Catherine Drayton for paving the way.
On the home front, thank you to my family and my friends, and to John, Max, and Tallulah, the collective garden in my pocket.
Author’s note: I have always loved the name Tallulah, and when I was told I would not have any more children, I gave the name instead to another girl, the one in this book.
Then, much to our surprise and delight, we did indeed have another child, a little girl, who we called, of course, Tallulah. For a long time I thought about changing the character’s name. But no other name seemed to fit, and I had by that time grown pretty attached to both of them! So now I have one Max and two Tallulahs in my life—the fictional one and the real one. How lucky can one woman get?
