Now Is Always the Right Time

Between greed, hatred, and delusion, there’s a lot to pay attention to. And we can begin very close to home. We don’t have to criticize anybody else, nor do we have to criticize ourselves or take any of it personally.

The whole point is simply to see the play of these various mind-states and their effects on the body and how it actually feels moment by moment. As we have seen, there is a lot to be aware of, and that is why mindfulness packs so much transformative power, so much healing power, such a capacity for orienting us and helping us to grow into ourselves.

This capacity is present and accessible across the entire life-span. It doesn’t matter how old you are when you discover mindfulness practice or when you first heard the word “mindfulness” and decided that you felt some affinity and attraction to its promise as a practice. It doesn’t matter because, basically, it is the promise of reclaiming your life, or more accurately, of giving your life back to yourself. That can happen at any age, and in any moment.

Now is always the right time because it is the only time. Just check your watch or clock.
