The Gospel is truth, not potential. The good news unveils reality, the way God sees it.
What if some did not believe and were without faith? Does their lack of faith and their faithlessness nullify and make ineffective and void the faithfulness of God and His fidelity [to His Word]?
By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar ...
Rom 3:3,4 AMP
Our faith ... or lack of faith, does not make the faithfulness of God ineffective; it does not change the reality of what He did for us and with us in Christ Jesus. God did not simply do something for you in the event of Christ Jesus, He did something with you:
His incarnation, when God became man, was the event and the person in whom I met God.
His death, was my death - the relationship with sin was severed.
His resurrection, was my resurrection - the original, pure and blameless person He imagined was raised in newness of life.
His ascension, was my ascension - raised to a place of honour, seated at the right hand of God, fully alive, fully myself.
Jesus is more than a historic person which is of potential benefit to me - He is the secret of my life. In Him all things consist.
He has done all the hard work - the actual dying and rising from the dead! All that is left is the opening of your eyes.
When we are presented with God’s reality, when we see the face of our birth as in a mirror, we have all the reason to metanoia ... to come to our right mind. Just like the younger son we can remember our Father and abandon the pigs den.
God doesn’t just think thoughts about you ... You are His thoughts in physical form. To agree with Him is to affirm your own existence; to disagree with Him is to deny your own existence. “Agree with God and be at peace” Job 22:21
Such agreement has the power to completely transform your experience. Heaven is ready to invade your life!
As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness; I shall be fully satisfied, when I awake in your likeness. Ps 17:15
