Create a natural bow by curling the hair and then wrapping it just so! Like a birthday present waiting to be opened, it’s a great design for a Sweet Sixteen or prom.

1. Wash and blow dry the hair. Divide the hair into two sections with a part from ear to ear over the crown of the head. Divide the hair at the back of the head into an upper and lower section.

2. Gather the hair at the crown of the head in a ponytail and secure with a hair elastic close to the scalp.

image

3. Use the end of a tail comb to draw out the hair in the ponytail a bit, creating volume.

image

4. Brush a small section of the hair in this ponytail (about one-fifth of it) upwards and towards the front of the head.

5. Divide the rest of the hair in the ponytail into two even sections. Draw the left-most section towards the left and roll it gently towards the right side to make a loop. Secure the loop with bobby pins and allow the ends to hang loose.

6. Repeat this technique on the right side of the ponytail, rolling the hair in the other direction and securing the loop with bobby pins.

image

7. Insert pins vertically into the loops to make sure they are secure.

image

8. Wrap the loose hair extending from one of the loops around your finger to form a tight roll.

image

9. Insert this roll into the loop and secure it with bobby pins. Repeat with the other loop.

10. Draw back the small section of hair that you brushed forward in Step 4.

11. Secure this section of hair at the base of the two loops with bobby pins. Arrange the hair so that it conceals the hair elastic securing the ponytail and completes the bow shape.

12. Place a decorative hair band over the top of the head. Divide the hair in front of the hair band into two sections with a side part. Draw the hair on each side of the part to the back of the head and secure with a hair elastic.

13. Curl the loose hair with a curling iron.

14. Gather sections of hair from behind each ear and draw them together at the back of the head. Secure with a hair elastic below the bow. Add more bobby pins, as necessary, to secure all of the hair. Mist with holding spray.
