The hotel business has one thing in common with every other business that has ever been established in any part of the world; it plays to the eyes. Everyone wants the best, picturesque setting, beautiful rooms, and a unique vista that makes you imagine paradise, and the hotels know this. Standing at the window of the Halimut, Nikolai stared out the window at the open courtyard.

The open courtyard was exquisitely designed with numerous art pieces dotting the walls of the walkways. Ornamental plants marked the edges of the pool while sculptures that seem to be jumping at you lined the water’s edges. Pretty women in bikinis walked out of the saunas and up to their rooms either in bikinis or with their towels wrapped around their bodies.

There was a slight knock on the door and Nikolai turned around, a huge smile appearing on his face. He walked straight to the door and pulled it open without asking who was at the other end. He already knew.

“Nikolai,” a soft feminine voice called sensuously.

“Kira,” he said, taking the lady in his hand and planting a quick kiss on her lips. It is in the muskiness of their voices, the drop in cadence, the hunger in their eyes, and Kira’s almost trembling body. Nikolai lifted her off her feet and slammed the door shut with his feet before marching gingerly to the bed. He laid her spread-eagled on the bed and undressed her. She was moaning as he kissed her, running his tongue along her body, kissing every part as he continued to undress her. Lunch break is short, but he knew he had to do this well.

She squirmed as he kissed her, her body bending into his hands as he sorts to send shivers of pleasure deep into her. He is aware of his numerous competition, he has seen how Valentin looks at Kira, Yevgeniy too although he couldn’t tell about that one, he seems to want every woman in the office including old Zhina, if the old lady pointed to her coochie, the bastard might just dive right in there.

“What is wrong?” Kira asked, turning her eyes to him. “Are you okay?” she asked.

“Yes, yes, everything is fine,” he said, turning to plant a kiss on her lip. She responded, kissing him back, and running her hand over her body. As her hands slid down to his center, she paused.

“Ummm,” she began. Nikolai fell off her and sat in the corner, staring at her with an apology in his eyes.

“This has never happened before,” he said.

“I know, and I am sure it is not a medical thing because I had felt it at the door, how come it is asleep just when it should be breathing hard?” she asked. Nikolai shrugged and got off the bed, walking towards the window. She waited a moment, staring at the broad back of the man standing by the window. His body is taut, muscles sticking out from every side. She liked to run her hands along with his stony abs, feeling that tautness press against her palm. She loved how he holds her, how he makes her feel when he has her beneath him.

She walked towards the windows, stopping to wrap her hands around him. Rubbing them against his torso, he slid down, making her way towards the sleeping lion. She knew she could get it to come alive if only she could pull him away from whatever was troubling him.

“That knife earlier, there was something wrong with it, it had a smell, a distinct smell I remember from a long time ago,” Nikolai said.

“Is that what was occupying your mind again?”

“No, I was thinking about Yevgeniy,” he answered.

“What about that bulky oaf is giving you concerns?” she asked, pulling away from him and turning him around to face her.

“He is closer to your age, he is Belarusian, sort of and I saw what was written on that silly flower he got today,” He said.

“What are you talking about?” she asked.

“I think those flowers were really fucked up. Mine read “The best is just beyond your reach.” Yevgeniy’s read, “you are about to get all you’ve ever desired,” I don’t know what to think, you know the office, you can’t just drop those flowers without being recorded. That is a secure facility and words are spoken carefully, how can such flowers arrive without you or Boris knowing a thing about it?” Nikolai laid the contents of his heart bare. Kira shook her head, unsure what to say or even where to begin.

“I think Boris knows how the flowers got to the tables, I know how he hates things he can’t understand but he has been very calm about the flowers which tells me he knows where they came from. We didn’t get flowers, himself and I,” Kira said.

“You’re saying you have nothing to do with that?”

“No, honey, not at all, and I don’t want to have anything to do with Yevgeniy, it is you I want, always,” she said, slipping back into his arms and wrapping his hand around his torso. He held her tenderly, kissing her lips lightly. She could feel him coming alive again. She pulled back and smiled at him, her eyes glistening with hunger. She took his hand and pulled him towards the bed, he smiled and went willingly, smiling like sacrificial meat.

He lifted her and laid her on the bed gently. He pushed her clothes off her shoulder, admiring her curves and the beauty that had sent many of their coworkers into overdrive. His desire was gaining more fire as he pressed up against her, his turgid cock pressing hard against her body, it was asleep only moments ago. His hands traced lines on her soft skin, caressing her softly.

He kissed her lips lightly for a moment. she returned the energy, giving as much as she got until he went lower tracing a line down the length of her stomach with his tongue, pausing at interesting points to sing pleasure through her pores; at my belly button, he paused and kissed the spot, running his tongue into the depth of that small dimple then he slid past that spot.

He went beyond that, pausing over her mound. She held his head tenderly, like an appreciative supplicant receiving answers to prayers. Her legs were beginning to shake lightly, announcing her oncoming orgasm. Suddenly, she wrapped her legs tightly around his neck and gave in to the pleasure, moaning deeply. He nodded with a satisfactory smile.

When he rose off his kneeling position, he threw his clothing off in a quick motion and positioned himself over her, beginning a gentle motion that seemed to make her happy. She held him close, her hands gliding over his back as the pace of their breathing grew a few decibels. His powerfully built body hung over her, and she closed her eyes momentarily, savoring the moment in its fullness.

His pace began to pick up as the pleasure increased. The slow rhythm progressed to a fast beat as he tore into her pussy, moving in and out quickly, the pleasure climbing was taking both of them through the realms of pleasure as they moaned in unison.

He bent and took her nipple in his mouth, as he thrust deeper and deeper. She was squirming under his tight hold, her moans intensifying. Her fingernails tore into his back as his thrusts grew into a frenzy.

He lifted her and turned her around in a quick motion, bringing her to sit on top of while remaining inside her. She began a smooth movement, bouncing her ass on him, completely in charge. She began to grind into him.

She got up and knelt on the bed, arching her back sensuously. He moved forward, positioning himself behind her as their bodies blended once more. Grabbing a hold of her waist, he began a slow back and forth motion, going faster and faster as she yelled for more. He didn’t slow down and he could feel her body respond to his. She called out his name, drawing it out sensuously as the waves took her.

He laid her back on the bed, her eyes staring into his as they reverted to their original position. He looked deep into her eyes as she looked in his, both of them lost in the throes of passion. He didn’t lose his pace, for a little while he kept at this, his pace increasing gradually as the sea of pleasure built up inside him. When the heavy wave of pleasure hit him, he called out her name, holding her tight as he slumped onto her body.

He fell off her and lay on his back, breathing heavily. He felt a sting on his shoulder and slapped it away, wondering when ants began to get into the hotel. He saw Kira slap herself in the same way, pushing whatever it was that bit her away.

“They should probably look into that and see what it is, you can’t have guests slapping themselves in this manner,” he said, pulling her into his arm.

“I guess, that was awesome,” she smiled, kissing him lightly.

The bathroom door opened suddenly and they scrambled onto their feet. A man walked in carrying a suitcase and a handgun. Nikolai pulled Kira behind him quickly, shielding her.

“Take whatever you want, and leave, please,” Nikolai said.

“Sure, that’s exactly what I plan to do,” Ivan said as he took the stool, pushed it against the wall, and sat, motioning them to the bed with the gun.

“Penislovich?” Kira said, slipping out from behind Nikolai. He chuckled, his face remaining expressionless as he sat.

“I have been telling you lot that my name is not Penislovich but for many years you lot have refused to acknowledge that, not that it matters anyway. Come, Kira, take this and handcuff your man to the bedpost,” Ivan said, passing the cuffs to her. Don’t worry, I know you both enjoy this kind of thing. I have spent a fair few days as a part of your rendezvous.” He said.

“Why are you doing this? What do you want?” Nikolai asked.

“I tell you the truth, your meat is not as impressive as I thought it would have been,” Ivan said, chuckling. Even when he chuckled, there was no expression on his face.

“What is this? What is going on?” he asked.

“You are right, Nikolai when you said the knife had a certain smell. Honestly, I worried about Valera and that knife, I worried that someone with military experience would notice that smell and unravel my plans. Of course, I made alternative plans for such possibilities but you were too interested in quelling a hysteria that you ignored your instincts.”

“So what was that? You murdered Valera in the lady’s room and melted her body?” Nikolai asked.

“In a few minutes, I will do the same to you, and your whore here. Science is efficient and since we have been working so hard at developing excellent weapons, we keep advancing the course of science,” Ivan said.

“Why are you doing this?” Nikolai asked.

“Kira, I notice that little game you’re playing with the cuffs, it won’t help. You both will be going to sleep in a few minutes, we just have enough time to chat.”

“What have you done? Why are you doing this?” Nikolai asked. Ivan picked up a little dart off the side of the bed and lifted it to examine it, his gun still pointed at Nikolai. Kira burst into tears.

“Don’t you worry, Kira, you won’t know when it all starts,” Ivan said.

“I will never call you Penislovich ever again, I promise, please let me go, I did nothing wrong,” she said.

“Well, you know he was married, but you went ahead to do this with him, for sure, you have done nothing wrong but here you are, in a hotel room with a man whose kids and wife live down in Shlisselburg.”

“How do you know that?” Nikolai asked, turning his eyes first to Ivan and then back to Kira who stared at him without words. “Talk to me, Kira!”

“I know damnit! How I know is not important, but I was already in love with your cheap, lying ass and what did I do? I sent a letter to your poor wife hidden in the ass of Shlisselburg. I warned the poor woman to forget about you, to take care of her kids and manage the money you send her and not make trouble for us,” Kira cried. “You lied to me! You lied!” She yelled.

“I fell in love with you, Kira, you mean everything to me, everything!” Nikolai professed.

“So chivalrous of you, Nikolai, so very chivalrous. How many kids do you have?” Ivan asked.

“I have enough, you cannot explain what love is or what it does to us, you cannot put a handle on it, I promise you, you cannot. But you don’t know this because you’ve never been in love,” he said.

“No, I haven’t. None of it matters anyway. Your misdemeanor is only an excuse for me to do this, you know, I tell myself I need a reason, something that helps you lot deal with what is coming to you but the truth is, excuse or not, I was going to kill you lots today. No one will ever find out what happened to you. They will think you just left without signing out through the normal channels,” Ivan said.

“Please, I am begging you, don’t do this,” Nikolai begged. His face grew cloudy like he was about to cry.

“You are going to disappoint me, please keep up your macho ways, I need you to die a man, Kira here, she can cry and shout and throw tantrums but at the first sign of that from you, I will kill you very slowly!” Ivan warned.

He watched them, sitting at the edge of the stool as they began to fall slowly into a deep sleep from which they will never wake. He watched them go, like a tide receding after it has done its job. Kira kept on her begging, but he had gagged her so that when she became hysterical, she couldn’t alert the hotel. She fell into the swoon first. Then Nikolai tried his last chivalrous gesture.

“You’ve got me, I was the one who led her into this madness in the first place. Take me, you’ve got me, but let her go, please,” he pleaded.

“You forget too quickly, but as I said, I don’t need any reason to finish what I have set out to do here, you’re both dying,”

“You son of a....”

“Yeah, I am aware of whose son I am, mother Russia, something you forgot a long time ago. Now come on, lay down, go on ahead, let it go,” Ivan whispered, running his hand over Nikolai’s head. The first thing the drug in their system does is incapacitate them. Movement becomes impossible then the weakness sets in before the deep sleep comes. He took the cuffs off and dragged Nikolai into the bathroom. For a small man, he could carry more than his weight. Once he pushed him into the tub, he put on his full body gas mask and stood watching as the man lay there, just a heap of blubbering flesh. He screwed the nozzle onto the gun and fired two shots into the prone body. Nikolai didn’t even twitch.

He dragged his girlfriend into the room and did the same to her. He could have thrown them in the solution without wasting the bullets, they will die as their skin and bones dissolve, but that was just unnecessary drama. He doesn’t want any half dissolved bit bouncing down the stairs pointing to the remnants of what used to be fingers.

He watched them begin to go, dissolving slowly before he packed up his things and got ready to leave. Out in the hallway, he placed the “Do not disturb” sign on the door, they were supposed to be busy, weren’t they?

He paused at the hotel’s restaurant and order some Stroganoff. He whistled under his breath as he waited for his meal to arrive. When it finally came, he performed a quick salute before grabbing his fork and digging in. When he was done, he took a taxi back to the office. He could recall their faces when they knew it was all over when they knew their lives weren’t theirs anymore. It was a blandness, a surrender which he didn’t care for at all. He would have preferred a fight, a real fight, but this works too. Death comes no matter what they do.

He slipped into his desk and opened his computer. There was a text on his screen. “Come to my office, Ivan.” He got up and walked into Boris’ office, knocking lightly before walking in. He stood at the door and watched the older man.

“You wanted to see me, Sir?”

“Yes, Ivan. I haven’t been able to reach Kira, do you have any idea where she is?” he asked, fixing him with a stare.

“No, sir, the last time I saw her was in the morning when she handed me the document I have to work on for the day.”

“Nikolai too, he seems to be nowhere to be found.” While they were speaking, Zhina walked in, dragging her feet. They ought to have retired her already but for some reason, she is still here, slow as ever, always tired looking and a little sad around the eyes.

“Mr. Boris, I haven’t seen Valera all morning. Yevgeniy too and Valentin,” Zhina reported.

“Yevgeniy had taken Genrika home earlier when she stumbled on that knife in the bathroom, I could go down there and see if there was any complication with Gen,” he offered.

“Alright, Ivan, please head down there and see what is going on. I haven’t experienced this sort of thing before, it is madness!” Boris said.

Ivan walked down to his cubicle, grabbed his suitcase, and slipped into his car. His face held no expression as he walked down and slipped into his Lada Riva.
