For many years I have been studying the electromagnetic field, which controls all life on our planet. Migrating marine animals and birds of passage use the solar electromagnetic field as a navigation guide, and we humans are also profoundly affected by this force.
Over the past decades, researchers worldwide have been feverishly analyzing measurable physical changes in the Earth and have been describing their effects. This research has centered on the Sun, whose activity affects us by inducing disturbances in the Earth’s electromagnetic field that are known as geomagnetic disturbances. Geomagnetic storms can even cause compass needles to move—which shows just how strong the effect is.
The Earth has indisputably been subjected to modified cosmic and terrestrial fields in recent years, and researchers worldwide agree that this phenomenon is attributable to unusual levels of solar activity. This evolution is set to continue and even intensify, and it will peak in the years around 2012—a period of time that plays a major role in the calendar of the Classic-period Mayan civilization of Mesoamerica.
Fascination with our time as the fulfillment of ancient prophecy is attributable to the unique confluence of Mayan myths and ultra-advanced science. These myths have lent particular significance to the period of time in which we find ourselves. The Mayans developed an extremely advanced culture in Central America, which reached its peak in the fourth to ninth centuries AD. The Mayans had a complex writing system, were excellent mathematicians, and had a simply amazing knowledge of astronomy—all of which culminated in the development of several calendar systems. The Mayans prophesied that the crux of a cyclical transformation would occur around our year 2012. And so the question is: Is this actually happening? And if so, what kind of transformation are we experiencing? And how do these prophecies square with the findings of modern scientific research?
The calculations of NASA scientists show that we may experience a massive wave of horrific cataclysms due to accelerating changes in the Earth’s electromagnetic environment. They point to the possibility of a final collapse of our world as we know it; global natural catastrophes, such as earthquakes and floods; and power failures with disastrous results.
This is where my research comes in. While it is understandable that such predictions provoke anxiety, closer scrutiny of the facts shows that they have been and are being interpreted in a one-sided manner. Yes, the prospect of natural catastrophes is frightening, but they will not be the only effect of the altered force fields. My extensive research demonstrates to my satisfaction that much more than worldwide disaster is in the offing. This change will entail a fundamental transformation, not an apocalypse.
Unstable situations offer unique opportunities as well. Perhaps the time has come when we will realize that our old strategies have outworn their use, and we simply must change. In short, human civilization is undergoing a necessary catharsis.
The ideas put forward in this book are based on the extensive research I have conducted over the past fifteen years into electromagnetic fields and their impact on the human race. My findings initially struck me as being so bizarre that I rejected them out of hand. Is it really possible, I wondered, that solar activity has such a strong effect—stronger than generally believed—on our psyche, our consciousness, and moods? But then I found out from reading clinical studies that certain electromagnetic fields have a demonstrable effect on brain activity. These studies also show this effect can be enhanced by exposing test subjects to specific electromagnetic fields and/or frequencies.
Using these findings as a starting point, I began conducting my own research into the possible associations between mental abnormalities and electromagnetic fields. I found that these parallels do in fact exist, and that they are verifiably measurable. And what’s more, serious scientific studies apart from my own, all based on reliable statistics, resoundingly confirm these same hypotheses.
It was on October 13, 1995, that I decided to devote all of my energies to studying these issues. A particular focus was solar activity, since it is responsible for many phenomena that directly affect us, ranging from the neurophysiological and biochemical mechanisms of the brain to specific clinical disorders. For example, brief fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field significantly increase the incidence of depression and heart attacks, but also enhance creativity and telepathic capacities. Research has even shown that major musical and literary works have been created in the presence of electromagnetic-field disturbances, which are amenable to description.
Another phenomenon that I became increasingly interested in was cosmic radiation, which is strongly influenced by a different phenomenon—namely that our solar system moves through our galaxy and is currently drawing nearer to an area that is subject to extremely high levels of such radiation. And so it’s no surprise that most of us sense an accelerating planetary transition is underway. What this fateful epoch has in store for us is already plain for all to see. Virtually all of the unusual phenomena that we are currently witnessing on Earth regarding the climate, the economy, or our psyches are related not only to changes in electromagnetic fields, but also to elevated levels of cosmic radiation. The speed and intensity of this process is set to increase in the near future.
However, the extent to which these major changes pose a threat to us mainly hinges on the kind of knowledge we have at our disposal. If for example, we take at face value the shrill warnings of certain scientists and panderers to base (and baseless!) fears, we will be helpless and defenseless if the events they predict do indeed come to pass. But on the other hand, if we can grasp the principle that we are about to embark on a monumental process of transformation, we will be able to face what this process of quickening metamorphosis has in store for us calmly and without any anxiety or hysteria whatsoever.
The next few years will confront us all—scientists included—with what can only be described as borderline experiences. Physicists in particular are fond of trying to square empirical data with ready-made theories, with the result that new findings are provoking suspicion and a certain lack of imagination. By contrast, every groundbreaking discovery is catalyzed by a moment of profound intuition. Even the best-trained minds are sometimes unable to wrap themselves around new discoveries—which means that it takes better-than-average mental capacity to grasp the significance of the monumental leaps of knowledge that we have seen in recent years. So in contrast to NASA scientists and Hollywood, I’ve come to realize that the transition to a “next age” predicted by ancient cultures such as the Mayans will be marked by an evolutionary leap that will bring with it a new form of consciousness and harmony.
So what makes me think an evolutionary leap is in the offing? First of all, everyone agrees that evolution is a work in progress. The principle that life is all about change is anything but simple—to the contrary: it manifests itself in nature according to the rules of evolution, which often occurs in leaps rather than incrementally. There have been increasing signs of late that such a leap is imminent.
I am aware that readers may find some parts of the present book difficult to follow, since I am dealing here with extremely complex scientific phenomena; plus the fact that the information I am presenting may seem highly fanciful. However, I can assure you that my research stems not from the realm of fantasy, but from a basis of empirical studies and long years of investigation—and is certainly not anything resembling or related to a conspiracy theory. My purpose in writing this book is to provide material that readers will find useful, and to this end I have attempted to explain even the most complex matters as clearly and simply as possible.
I will have achieved my purpose in writing this book if, after reading it, you think of the time we are in as a magnificent opportunity that represents not a finality, but a new beginning. I wish you an exciting and educational reading.
