Nuts, seeds, and dried fruit are nature’s snack foods. Many different kinds of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits are good for snacking and the options are even greater when you combine them. Be sure to read product labels carefully, however, and avoid those with added sugar, preservatives, and other ingredients besides nuts, fruit, seeds, and natural flavorings. One of my favorite combinations is Eden Foods’ All Mixed Up, which contains roasted almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried cherries, and raisins. One official serving provides 7 g of carbs, but I usually eat about a serving and a half and count it as one portion of nuts and seeds and a half-portion of fruit.
