1) Dvarius and Kayden were married just a few weeks after meeting. How long do you think couples should wait to marry? Is a few weeks enough time to know if you are meant to be with someone forever?

2) Although Dvarius had the best of intentions, which was to make certain Kayden's future would be secure, was there any other way of protecting her — rather than rushing into a marriage? What other choices can you think of?

3) Dvarius insisted on coming out of hiding to marry Kayden right away. Do you think it was worth the risk? Can you think of another way they could have formed an alliance?

4) Now that Dvarius and Kayden are married, their biggest hurdle is finding Drey and shutting down the Order of the MoonStone. Only then can Dvarius safely return to the palace to be crowned King of Auralius. Do you think they will succeed . . . that good will overcome evil?

5) Dvarius' faith in God is very important to him. If Kayden never accepts Christ as her Savior, how will that impact their marriage? Their children? Their future? Their country? Do you think marrying someone who doesn't share your faith would be a mistake? How would it impact your own life . . . and marriage?

CHAT WITH THE AUTHOR

Whether you have read all the books (so far) in this series or if this is the first, you have probably noticed that the story includes a lot of intrigue.

Each bit of mystery and intrigue is carefully placed in the story. While we cannot answer all of your questions, we can certainly answer a few.

1. How did the message get back to the palace about Dvarius being injured and staying in the cabin with Kayden?

Although Dvarius and Marek have been friends for years. Marek does not reside inside the palace. For the most part, they pass communication through typical channels, but there are times that Marek requires a bit more secrecy. For those times, he takes advantage of a courier service from outside the palace. This is the first opportunity Dvarius has had to use the same service, but he has been well acquainted with it (and its' location) for many years.

2.Who coordinated and orchestrated preparations for Kayden and Dvarius' wedding?

Catarine took care of the majority of the planning and shopping. For example, when Catarine left the palace, she had one of Kayden's gowns with her, but when she and Marek passed a shop in Orum with that fantastic dress in the window, she could not pass it up. The Queen carefully selected their officiant and arranged for him to show up at the correct time and place. She also took care of the paperwork (with the help of the royal chief of security).

3. How serious were Dvarius' injuries? How did Kayden have the supplies to care for him?

Fortunately, Dvarius' injuries were not life threatening – though he did lose quite a bit of blood. Like Kayden, he was stabbed – however, his wounds were mostly superficial. Nothing inside his shoulder was torn or in need of surgery. He was exceedingly blessed to have received such a minor wound from such an intense encounter.

Kayden had supplies in the cabin for just such an occasion. She had prepared the cabin for all sorts of emergencies.

4. Where is the cabin they are staying in? Will readers discover this in the next book?

The cabin is just outside the worst part of Orum – deep in the woods. There may indeed be more about this in the next book.

5. Is the order still after Dvarius – or do they believe he did not survive his injuries?

The order is still after Dvarius – and they have added Kayden to the list as well. Helping the Prince to escape has put a rather large price on her head (as she knew it would).

FROM THE AUTHOR

I hope you have enjoyed this expanded version of what was originally meant to be only a chapter in book four.

As I explored the story, I realized that it truly needed the extra detail and exploration that I have been able to put into this bonus short story.

I endeavor to give my readers the absolute best that I can — and I do hope they will agree with me that this is so much better than a short chapter where everything happens quickly, with very little detail.

Thank you for reading this BONUS short story. I hope you will check out the remainder of the series. There are several books . . . and short stories . . . available at this point, one of which is FREE wherever eBooks are sold. And there are several more to come.

God Bless you all!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

JC Morrows — writer of Christian YA speculative fiction . . . drinker of coffee and avid reader — is a storyteller in the truest sense of the word.

She finished her first speculative fiction novel purely for the enjoyment of her mother — also known as her biggest fan, but of course she couldn't stop with just one.

JC has been telling stories in one form or another her entire life and once her mother convinced her to write them down . . . well, she couldn't stop.

But she gives God all of the glory for her talent and ability!

“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
