Optimism in action

In the first four chapters of this book we explored the theory of optimism, how to acquire it and how it benefits your physical and mental health. In this chapter, we will look in more detail at how to use and share your optimism skills in the most familiar life contexts, at work and at home.

Discover how to build and maintain a positive, supportive and understanding relationship with your partner, how to pass on the precious gift of optimism to your children, and how to make your home a fun, happy place for you and your family to live.

You will also learn how to lend your optimism skills to friends who are in need of a positive outlook and develop ways to breed optimism in your workplace for the benefit of your co-workers, your company and yourself. Finally, we will see how you can apply a “can do” attitude to your career, to ensure that it is as fulfilling as possible.
