Chapter Five

Drew collected the wine and both their glasses and updated Emilee on the plan. Making their way up the path, Drew was pleasantly surprised to find an oversized chaise lounge with more than enough room for both of them to recline together. The clearing was on a rise that overlooked the valley below.

He placed their wine and glasses on the small side table, then sat down, patting the space next to him. Emilee sat next to him, stretching her legs out and leaning back against the soft pillows behind them.

“This is the life,” she said as they gazed out at the vineyard below them. In the distance, he could see the tasting room and a large farmhouse that must be the family home. Small cottages dotted the landscape along with a few larger buildings that housed the equipment needed for the property.

Drew put his arm around Emilee, and she leaned into the contact. The golden light flooded them with warmth and pulled out the highlights in Emilee’s hair, making it look like a halo. It felt as if they were far removed from the rest of the world.

The sun dipped lower on the horizon, casting shadows over their cozy chaise. Drew cupped Emilee’s face in his hands, drawing her close for a kiss. He was in awe that he could reach out and kiss this woman he’d dreamed about for as long as he could remember.

Drew couldn’t hold back his need and he deepened the kiss as he pulled Emilee closer. She threw a leg over him so that she was straddling his lap, aligning their hips so she could feel the hard length of him against her core.

He swallowed her gasp with his mouth as she slowly moved against him, increasing the sweet torture until Drew was sure he’d die of pleasure. They’d waited so many years for this moment and both seemed eager to be as close as possible.

The sun had set and the sky was streaked with bright pinks and oranges in contrast to the darkness that cloaked them. Was this reality? Holding his dream woman in his arms as she shamelessly used him to find her pleasure.

“This is perfect,” Emilee said. “I wish every night could be like this.”

“Maybe it can.” Drew was certain that he would do anything to ensure he had the opportunity of this woman’s love.

Emilee peeked up at him from the crook of his arm. “How? We don’t even live in the same part of the state.”

“There are ways. Don’t forget I have a private plane.”

Emilee’s laugh encouraged him. “True. I’ve always had a fantasy about the mile high club…”

“Is that so?” Drew pulled her closer into his arms and snuggled them deeper under the blanket. “I could help you with that if you’d like. Say, in about twenty minutes?” He reached for his phone to call the car service for their return trip to the airport.

“Sounds good to me. Then what?”

“Then you spend the rest of the weekend in my bed. The first of many, I hope.”

Emilee leaned up to offer him a kiss. “Definitely the first of many.”

Drew and Emilee sealed their promise with a kiss as the last rays of sun dipped below the horizon.
