About the Editors
Ira Rifkin is an award-winning journalist specializing in religion issues. He is the author of Spiritual Perspectives on Globalization: Making Sense of Economic and Cultural Upheaval (Woodstock, VT.; SkyLight Paths, 2nd ed. 2004),and has served as a Washington correspondent for The Jerusalem Report, national correspondent for Religion News Service, and news director for Beliefnet.com. He has written for the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Baltimore Sun, MSNBC.com, and numerous other publications, and has taught at American University and elsewhere.

He is professor of Psychiatry and Medical Humanities at Harvard Medical School and James Agee Professor of Social Ethics at Harvard University. Winner of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our highest civilian honor, he is also the author of many books, including Simone Weil: A Modern Pilgrimage; The Geography of Faith: Underground Conversations on Religious, Political and Social Change with Daniel Berrigan (both SkyLight Paths); and The Spiritual Life of Children.
