“You remain the same, and your years will never end.”

— Psalm 102:27

Never-Ending Lord

Grace had seen too many things come to an end in the past year. She wished she could have even two months in a row without changes. Her mom had left the family to pursue an acting career in California. Soon after the divorce, her dad remarried a woman with two little kids. They moved to a bigger home in another part of town, so Grace changed schools. They’d stopped going to church, and Grace missed her youth group. She felt like her former life had been wiped out. Would anything ever be the same again?

There is one thing that never changes — and that’s God. In a world that is sometimes overwhelming with its changes, it’s important to remember that Jesus is the Rock that never moves. Anyone who lives by Jesus’ words is “like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock” (Luke 6:48 NKJV). Sometimes changes come so rapidly that it feels like a flood. But if you build your life on the Rock, you’ll weather the storm and still be standing!
