“You should behave instead like God’s very own children, adopted into his family — calling him ‘Father, dear Father.’ ”

— Romans 8:15 (NLT)

Who Am I?

If you’ve accepted Jesus as your Savior, then you’ve been adopted into God’s own family. You’ve been taken in as a member, with all the rights of any other son or daughter. And you have the privilege and honor to call God your very own Father.

If you have days when you don’t feel special or loved or important, remember who you are in Christ:

• I am Christ’s friend. (John 15:15)

• I am chosen by Jesus to bear good fruit for him. (John 15:16)

• I am a temple, or home, for God. His Spirit lives in me. (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19)

• I am a new person. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

• I am God’s workmanship (or handiwork), created in Christ to do his work. (Ephesians 2:10)

• I am chosen of God, holy, and dearly loved. (Colossians 3:12)

Memorize one or more of these verses. Then, when you’re in a situation that makes you feel like a nobody, speak those verses right out loud.
