“The Lord replied, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’ ”

— Exodus 33:14

Never Alone

Moses was nervous about leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, but God told Moses not to worry. Why? Even though it would be a huge job, God promised to go with him. God himself would travel with Moses, and he would give Moses the rest he needed.

If you’re a follower of Jesus, you can be just as confident as Moses was when he led his people to the Promised Land. Jesus gives you this promise: “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Not only will Jesus be with you every step of the way along your journey, but he will provide refreshment for your weary body, mind, and emotions. “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest’ ” (Matthew 11:28 NLT).

Just as God promised Moses, Jesus promises to be with you, guide you, and give you rest.
