“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

— 2 Corinthians 4:8 – 9

A Hope-Full Existence

Life can be very hard sometimes, but if you belong to Christ, you always have a sure hope. You may feel pressured, but you won’t be broken. Situations may leave you bewildered and confused, but never without hope. You may be suffering, but you are never deserted or left behind. You may feel struck down temporarily, but you will never be ruined.

Some years are easy, and some years you face very fiery trials. Do you ever feel confused by the suffering you experience? It’s normal to wonder why it has to be that way and how it’s all going to work out.

Just don’t be fooled into thinking you’ll be destroyed by it. You always have hope because Jesus lives in you! This isn’t the kind of hope you find in the world, like “I hope I get asked to that party,” or “I hope it doesn’t rain.” That kind of hope is flimsy, wishful thinking. The kind of hope you have is rock-solid. God is “the God of hope” (Romans 15:13)! That’s why you never have to worry, no matter what you’re going through at this moment.
