“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”

— Proverbs 3:5 (NLT)

Battling Bewilderment

Life can be confusing. Sometimes we just don’t know what to do. Learn to lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord. Trust him with your whole heart and mind. Don’t depend on figuring things out yourself.

Do you ever wonder what God is doing in your life? You’ve prayed about the things that worry you, or the situations causing you distress, but nothing seems to be happening. As believers, we have the privilege of staying peaceful in the middle of trying times. We can trust in God even when we don’t understand what has already happened or what is going to happen in the future. We can “rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him” (Psalm 37:7 NKJV).

Sometimes tragedies strike. Baby brother catches a virus that attacks his lungs, and he ends up in the hospital. A tornado flattens our house. Our parents get a divorce. We are shocked and bewildered. What do we do now? Remember: nothing that has happened took God by surprise. He knew it was coming, he has a plan, and he’ll take care of you. You don’t have to figure everything out! “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us” (Psalm 62:8 NKJV).
