“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

— Ecclesiastes 3:1

Growing and Changing

Things change. People change, families change, bodies change, activities change — everything is changing all the time. Sometimes we want to speed up change, especially if we’re waiting for something we want. Sometimes our desire is to slow change or even stop it, especially when something bad is happening. But there is a right and proper time for everything.

If you’re in the middle of changes — either wanted or unwanted — remember that things are not spinning out of control. God is the Master of all the times and seasons of your life. “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons” (Daniel 2:20 – 21 NKJV). God loves you, and you can trust him to bring about changes at exactly the right and proper time. Learn to say, “But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in Your hand” (Psalm 31:14 – 15 NKJV).

Yes, changes can be annoying, even scary. Learn to relax and let them happen naturally. There’s a time for every purpose under heaven.
