We will never completely understand God, because he thinks and acts beyond anything we can imagine in our limited, human minds. God and humans see things and people so differently. Just as heaven is beyond our understanding, God’s ways are higher in quality than ours.
For example, you may have difficulty forgiving people, and you still remember what they did to you. God, on the other hand, forgives and forgets, removing your sin far from you. Sometimes we consider ourselves very “spiritual” when we manage not yelling at someone. However, God says our thoughts must be right too, and that hating someone is like murder in our hearts. God’s thoughts about events in your life are different than yours too. You might pray to remain in your hometown, but your dad gets transferred to another state anyway.
Strive to know God better through prayer and Bible study, but know that you’ll never totally understand him or his ways. That’s okay. That’s why he’s God!
