“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

— Psalm 119:105

Illuminating Your Life

We’re all on a journey through life. It can be dark and confusing at times. But God’s Word — the principles and commandments in it — lights the way. It makes the narrow path visible, so we don’t have to stumble and fall. Lamps and lights also serve as warning signals, like when a bridge is out. In the same manner, God’s Word acts as a signal, warning us away from trouble.

Maybe you can’t find a specific Bible verse to cover your situation. If not, pray and ask God for his advice. He promises to give it to you. James 1:5 (NLT) says, “If you need wisdom — if you want to know what God wants you to do — ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking.” Sometimes you can sense the answer right away, and sometimes you have to wait for a while before you know what to do. But God will answer. “You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness” (Psalm 18:28 NKJV).

Put an end to the darkness on your path through life. Turn on the Light!
