“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.”

— Matthew 12:35

Treasure Hunt

You can’t tell by studying a person’s looks if she is good or bad. Watch the person’s actions instead. Someone with a good heart will say and do kind things. But watch out for the person with an evil heart!

Where our hearts go, our lives will follow. If you store up good things in your heart, good things will come out of you. That includes godly words and kind actions. If you store up evil things, then that’s what will come out of you. There’s an easy way to discover the condition of your heart (or someone else’s). Just check out your daily actions. Whatever appears on the outside, first took place on the inside.

If someone gave your heart a checkup, what kind of treasure would they find? Be sure you’re filling your heart with God’s Word. Then you’ll have treasure that you (and others around you) will cherish.
