“ ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ ” declares the Lord, ‘ “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ ”

— Jeremiah 29:11

Dream a Big Dream

God has a plan for your life, and it’s a good plan to help you grow stronger and be successful. We sometimes fear God’s plan will hurt us or keep us from having something we truly desire. But we can have hope for the future. God has promised he will meet our needs and give us each what is best.

All girls dream about the future. Maybe you dream of breaking your school’s hurdles record or getting the lead in the fall musical. Maybe your career goals include a scholarship to a music school or becoming a scientist to cure cancer. Whatever your dreams are, they may not just be your ideas. God may have placed them in your heart.

Because God also gave us free will, begin taking little steps toward reaching your dreams and goals. First, talk to God about them. Ask him to change anything about your goals that he wants to change. Then, break your future goals into smaller steps you can begin now. Study. Practice. Learn. Reach for excellence. Then you will be ready to fulfill God’s plans to prosper you in the wonderful future that lies ahead.
