“Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.”

— Psalm 40:5

Oh, I Get It!

Think about the last mystery movie you saw or book you read. Was there a place in it where you said, maybe even out loud, “Oh, I get it!” It was probably the moment when enough things had happened that you could look back and figure out what was going to come next.

Your life is kind of like a mystery — at times you can look back and see why certain things had to happen. Maybe you didn’t want to move from your old school, but in your new one you found a best friend you never would have met otherwise. When it seems like none of your prayers are being answered and God couldn’t possibly have a plan in the middle of the chaos of your life, take a few minutes to look back at what’s happened so far. There might be tons of “Oh, I get it!” moments to declare.
