“One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”

— John 9:25 (NIV)

Can’t Argue with That!

When Jesus healed the blind man, the religious leaders refused to believe the man. They claimed Jesus was a sinner and had no power to perform miracles. The formerly blind man said he knew only one thing: he’d been blind, but since Jesus touched him, he could see!

You may have heard for years in Sunday school class that you should share Jesus with your unsaved friends. You want to, but for some reason you just can’t. You may not feel smart enough. Or you get tongue-tied easily. But one day in the restroom, you find a girl sobbing her heart out. You discover that this girl’s dad has left his family. Your own dad died two years before in a car accident. Without thinking or being nervous, you simply talk to the hurting girl. You tell her how Jesus was your best friend when your dad died. Simply describing what your life was like before and after knowing Jesus can comfort someone’s wounded heart.

The healed blind man did the same thing. No matter how the Pharisees argued, they couldn’t debate one basic fact: the blind man could now see. That was his testimony. The same is true today. People simply can’t argue against the truth of your experience with Jesus.
