“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.”

— Isaiah 43:1 – 2 (NLT)

A Friend in Times of Trouble

If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you don’t need to be afraid anymore. God has saved and reclaimed you. Now you belong to him. Even when troubles seem too big to survive, God will walk you through them. You won’t drown in your difficulty. You won’t be destroyed, no matter how hard it gets sometimes.

Even when you forget to pray, God never leaves you. When you fail in your tests and trials, he never leaves you. Although you may not feel God’s presence, he never leaves you. He’s there to walk alongside as you go through fiery trials. Life can sometimes hand us some very deep rivers of trouble. You may be adjusting to a new stepfamily. Your health — or someone you love — may be in serious danger. You may have a family member fighting in the military. You may live in a city where serious crime happens daily. Is God still there, walking beside you? YES!
