Jeffrey Benton, a retired Air Force colonel, holds master’s degrees in English, political science, and history. He has taught history, English, art history, political science, and national defense policy from the high school to the postgraduate levels. His research interests include local history and architecture. He has written extensively on Montgomery, including five books of history and more than 250 newspaper articles for the Montgomery Advertiser and the Montgomery Independent. Jeff and his wife, Karen, live in Montgomery; they have two daughters, Caroline and Catherine.
