Turkey Cacciatore

A turkey breast cutlet, also known as a 'turkey steak' is a slice of skinless, boneless turkey breast, usually weighing around 175 g/ 6 oz. Turkey is very economical so it is a good choice for many dishes.

Serves 1

2 turkey breast cutlets, about 175 g/6 oz
200 g/7 oz/1 small can chopped tomatoes
30 ml/2 tbsp water or wine
2 button mushrooms, sliced
Pinch of dried oregano
1 small courgette (zucchini) sliced
Salt and freshly ground black pepper


  1. Combine all the ingredients in the slow cooker except the courgette, salt and pepper.
  2. Cover with the lid and cook on High for 2 hours.
  3. Add the courgette and season with salt and pepper. Continue to cook for a further 30 minutes to 1 hour until cooked through and tender.
  4. Serve with cooked pasta or rice.


Cook's tip
Another tasty accompaniment would be some slices of garlic bread and a green salad.
