When we write about money, instead of writing…
…we could write $4.06 to express the same thing. Notice that we add a little dot called a decimal point between the dollars and the cents, and we write a “$,” called a dollar sign, in front of the whole thing. When we see the “$,” we say “dollars”—but we say it after the number. So for $4.06 we’d say “four dollars and six cents.” And for $5.32, we’d say “five dollars and thirty-two cents.” Just something good to know!
