Family Increases Reward as Hope of Finding Missing

Calif. Woman Alive Dwindles

The family of Kenna Cook, 24, the Daly City, Calif., woman who was last heard from on May 22, has increased the reward to $50,000 for any information that leads to her safe return.

Authorities believe that Cook’s gold Honda Accord broke down after driving through Fallon on her way to Colorado, and she may have left the vehicle to find assistance. Cell phone and credit card records show no new activity since her disappearance.

Anna Herneda, long-time resident of Valterra and member of the search party, speculates Cook may have left the road and encountered a venomous snake or mountain lion. Nevada is home to five different species of rattlesnake and some 3,000 mountain lions.

Cook was reported missing by her family on May 23. The stretch of desert along Route 50 is vast, and without water, chances of survival are minimal.
