No, no, no! She was supposed to be his. She was going to be his. Who was this guy in the wheelchair? He was just like the strays she fed, this man couldn’t really take care of her. She was supposed to be waiting for him to come for her. She should have known he was coming for her.

This guy was just a distraction, of course Candace would feel sorry for him. Look at him. He was pitiful even with the stupid muscles. He was in a wheelchair for Christ’s sake. The guy was only half a man. He would be the only one she would take care of, and he would take care of her. He wanted to punish her now, break her so she was his and only his.

It would be perfect. Just the two of them, she would make dinner like she had for the cripple, but she would make all the things he liked. And he didn’t want pie. He liked cookies better. He would make her obey him. This guy was laughing with her but she wouldn’t laugh at him. She’d look at him with awe and fear. Other men would cringe with jealousy.

He slapped his forehead with his realization. That was what this was! Relief raced over his skin and his body felt lighter. She was just trying to get his attention. She was tired of waiting for him. That was what she wanted him to know. She wanted him to come for her. So she was trying to make him jealous, that was what girls did in the movies.

He didn’t like stupid games like that, but he supposed it couldn’t be helped. She couldn’t exactly call him. How else would she have gotten a message to him? She would need to be punished, it wasn’t nice to make him jealous. Bad things could happen.

Now he’d have to make her wait a little longer, make her pay just a little. Nothing to let her know he was this close, waiting. But something to get her attention. So far not much happened to her place, but maybe something should. Something to make her realize she needed him. That he could help her. That he could take care of her, not this half man. This wheel chair guy wasn’t going to change his plans. He waited too long, worked too hard, suffered too much, to turn back now.

He walked around the back of the garage, to the side with the windows. The lights were on in the neighbor’s place across the little sidewalk between the houses. He didn’t like him either, but he knew this guy wasn’t a threat to him, at least not with Candace. She usually kept to herself, only waving at the neighbors because she knew it made him jealous. But he could still use the guy. He’d make a great distraction. That’s what he had to do. Give that big stupid lump something to chase after.

The patio was made from bricks just set on sand. It was easy enough to wiggle a few out. He was careful to make sure he didn’t make too much noise then, it would ruin the surprise. This was perfect. He could punish Candace, and give that meathead something to go after, all at the same time.

He hefted a brick in each hand. He was about to toss the first one when a cat wrapped around his ankles. He kicked it away and it yowled loudly. Damned cat, now he had to hurry things up. He tossed the first brick, the shattering glass made him tingle all over. He started to get hard at the destruction raining down in front of him. Watching things fall apart made him feel strong. He hadn’t felt that good in a while, since before he went to that place. He could hear someone yelling. He had to get out of there, they would ruin everything. He smashed the second brick through the other window. But this one he didn’t get to enjoy. He ran, just far enough away to make sure he couldn’t be seen. He wanted to watch what happened when they found what he’d done.
