––––––––

Writing a book is pretty much like building the city of Rome: you can’t do it in one day, and you can’t do it on your own, either.

My first and foremost gratitude goes to my family, in particular my mom. She’s the one who encouraged me that my book was good enough for publication, and that I should never give up, no matter how tough something is. I also like to prove her wrong–when after eight years of not writing a single syllable, my mom told me she was convinced I’d never finish another book, I sat down and stubbornly started working on this one.

Next, I would like to thank my friends. You know who you are (and I’m afraid to mention all your names out of fear I would forget someone). You’ve all inspired this book in some shape of form. You’re the best friends I could wish for, and I wouldn’t trade any of you.

A big thank you goes to my wonderful editor, Melissa Keir, for helping me turn this book from a rough draft into a polished novel, and for not killing me when I decided to add two scenes at the very last moment.

I would also like to thank my extremely talented cover designer, Najla Qamber, for not giving up, even when she was already working on the fifth revision of the cover.

And lastly, my gratitude goes out to all my readers. Thanks for taking the time to read my book. I hope you enjoyed it.
