Chapter thirty
Holy Amethyst
Zeke tried very hard to read the Egyptian Book of Myths again that night, but it felt as if somebody was forcing his eyelids shut. His eyes were too heavy, his mind had abandoned him, and before he knew it, he fell asleep. In his sleep, he felt as if he was floating in the holy waters of the Egyptian River Nile. A cool breeze blew over his face, gently touching his whole body. It had a calming effect on his mind. That night was the most undisturbed sleep he had had in ages.
The next morning, he woke up rejuvenated and felt a strange surge of happiness. He felt so fresh and so full of joy, as if a holy and positive energy was touching him the whole day. He could almost feel that something big was about to happen.
It was evening, and he planned to go for a walk with Noah. But the moment he left his house, the old, familiar black cat began following him. Zeke had slowly warmed up to its presence and didn’t feel as anxious as he had been before. He always thought the black cat might begin speaking to him one day, just like Ziggy Bird, Zag, or the barn owl.
Instead, it just lazily yawned and uttered, “Mee-ooo-www.” The cat stretched its meow so far that Zeke couldn’t stop himself from smiling. It walked a few steps, turned around, and lifted one of its front paws as if to say something. Then, it looked straight into Zeke’s eyes and called “Mee-ooo-www!” It cocked its head to one side, motioning him to follow.
Zeke didn’t know what to do, but then he began to follow. The cat walked straight towards a meadow, and he kept following. The sun was about to go down when the cat walked to a certain patch of grass and lifted its front paw again. It turned around to check if Zeke was still in tow and then called him a third time, “Mee-ooo-www!” Zeke knew the cat was now asking him to come towards the patch of grass it was standing on, and so he followed. The cat stepped aside, and Zeke could see something glittering near its paw in the soft evening sunlight.
He bent down to pick it up. It was a huge, rough-edged, sparkly, violet-colored stone, big enough for him to have to use both hands to pick it up. He looked at it from every angle and tried rubbing the rough edges to clear the dirt and mud on it. The stone was so utterly mesmerizing that, for a while, he forgot about everything around him. When he finally did look away, the black cat was nowhere in sight. It had disappeared. He studied the stone for a while and then decided to take it to Mr. Leitner.
Noah loved collecting crystals and found the stone fascinating. “This is amethyst. It’s a very precious crystal. Where did you get this huge piece, kid?”
Zeke explained how the black cat had led him to the meadow and how he had discovered the crystal lying in a patch of grass. He wanted to give it to Noah so he could keep it in his store, but he refused.
“Take this amethyst home with you, son. I’m sure there’s a deeper meaning to it. Something big is coming your way. Crystals hold immense healing power. They’re also strong energy cleansing tools.”
Noah shared some very useful tips to maintain the power of the gift Zeke had received from the cosmos. “Wash and clean it properly, and then keep it in a secret place away from the reach of others. On the next full moon night, hold it under running water for about ten minutes to remove all negative energies it might have absorbed from other places or people it was around. Do this every time you wish to charge it. Then take a glass bowl, fill it with water, add some sea salt to it, and soak the crystal overnight, keeping the bowl in the open, directly under the moonlit sky. This practice will charge your crystal, bringing it back to its highest power and energy. Once your crystal is charged, you can use it to heal yourself and others.”
“How do I heal myself with a crystal?” Zeke was curious.
Noah wore his signature mysterious smile on his face as he went on. “You can charge your drinking water with the charged crystal. Keep the amethyst inside or next to a jar full of fresh water, close the lid, and keep it overnight on a new moon night as it symbolizes planting new seeds. Once your water is charged, visualize being healed. Drink this magical water, and it will work. If you can’t drink it, add a few drops of this magically charged water to your bath water. It’s as simple as that.”
“What can I heal with the amethyst?” Zeke was again curious to know.
“Amethysts heal our minds. It has the power to free us from our limited minds, which then brings us spiritual wisdom and guidance from the metaphysical realms. It can open our third eye, our higher vision, to show us our true potential and purpose in life.”
“What happens then, O Wise One?” Zeke jested with a wink and a smile.
“We feel a great sense of peace and balance once our minds open to cosmic truths. We often keep running after meaningless material things because our energy is stuck. Our minds have been programmed that way for centuries. Once we consciously break free from these conditioned ways of thought, we can be in alignment with the universe. We need to chase nothing, seek nothing.” He suddenly paused to ask Zeke a pertinent question nobody had ever asked him. “Have you ever thought deeply enough about what this universe really is?”
“The universe, um, the universe is…” he was left searching for words.
“It’s nothing but the super intelligence we call God. It’s made up of singular energy: the Source, and we’re extensions of the same Source. We’re all Source incarnates, our own God particles, little universes in ourselves, you see. When our mind opens to these magical realities, we stop standing in our own way, giving our power away to others or to our own ego, which always makes us feel insecure, and wanting to achieve something in this material world to make us feel better. Instead, we learn to stand in our power,” he went on as Zeke continued to nod in agreement.
“The more we learn to do so, this Super Intelligence can connect with us more easily. It knows what we need, what our soul is here to achieve, and brings everything to us organically in a cosmic flow. We learn to let go of our worries and cares and let this Source Energy, God, this Super Intelligence, handle everything for us.”
Zeke came home with the holy amethyst, thinking about the significance of what he had learned. He was reminded of a book he had read, written by the thirteenth-century Persian poet Rumi, who said, “What you seek is seeking you.”
Noah had unknowingly imparted a knowledge unmatched — if we learn to master the art of letting our purpose seek us instead of us seeking our purpose, we can then become the masters of our own universe. We can all become little alchemists!
Zeke rationalized, “Sounds great in theory. Now to put it into practice!”
