twenty-first day
today everyone smoking cigarettes
looks happy & full of life & like
when they walk by the halal grill
they dont see just piles & piles
of parts of bodies & i envy
the world & everyone sweet
& light who i watch in this bright
morning light wondering how
they know where they are
if they dont trace surface contradictions
track gaps if they only tail suffering
to understand suffering
oh i see it everywhere & in the animals
at home by the cumberland K & i lie
on sheets on the screened-in porch
listen to july crickets eat her moms
korean salads & she sits up
& says some fucker keeps
saying everywhere is the factory & we laugh
& laugh & then i looked down
the alley & saw an owl perched
on an old street light & suddenly knew
he was not me & he was not apart from me
that the factory is the factory yeah but
whats the rest of this
