An Amazing Catch of Fish

What happened one morning when Jesus the carpenter coached His disciples, who were fishermen, about catching fish (Luke 5:1–11)?

At Jesus’ early-morning command to let down the nets again, Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” The disciples obeyed and “caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink” (Luke 5:5–7). The remarkable catch of fish was clearly a miracle, astonishing to all the fishermen in Capernaum. Simon Peter immediately realized he was in the presence of the Holy One exercising His divine power, and he was stricken with shame over his own sin.
