Bless This Food
Many cultures say a blessing over a meal before it is eaten, often as a way of saying thank you to the god or gods who provided the food. I like to thank the people who labored to get the food to my table as well, in addition to expressing gratitude for the sacrifice if I am eating meat. Taking a moment to appreciate your food and where it came from is another easy way to integrate spirit into your everyday life. You can simply close your eyes and send out gratitude, or you can say something like this:
“I thank the gods for this food, and send appreciation to all those who got it to my table. May it nourish and support my body. So mote it be.”
