Pranay: eldest of the four sisters, Pranay serves as Court Mantrik. Studious, withdrawn and wise beyond her years, she often offers advice to her sisters when they seek it, and sometimes when they don’t. She has sworn never to cut her hair, a practice taken from the mantriks of old.
Preet: second-eldest of the four sisters, Preet serves as Seneschal, leader of the Royal Guard. She scorns palace politics and refuses to filter her opinions for anyone, even her own family. She enjoys smoking, drinking, and the company of her loyal soldiers.
Prem: second-youngest of the four sisters, Prem struggles to find her place in her own family. She also struggles with the luxuries of palace living when compared to her own, squalid upbringing. Being possessed by the spirit of a water demon has only served to further distance her from her sisters.
Priya: youngest of the four sisters, Priya is the new Rani of the country of Jaira. She does her best to navigate the difficulties of being a young, female ruler, hoping to earn the respect and care of her new subjects while also respecting her father’s memory.
